Exciting Announcement from Pure Vision Arts

event
founders

Pure Vision Arts has entered into an exciting new partnership with the co-founders of Summertime Gallery, Anna Schechter and Sophia Cosmadopoulos.

Summertime is a nonprofit Art Studio, Gallery and Residency Program based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This collaboration follows Summertime’s exceptional curation of PVA’s booth at the 2024 Outsider Art Fair.

Anna and Sophia will work with the Pure Vision Arts team to spotlight the contributions of our community, promote PVA artists, and enhance our connections with the NYC art world and beyond.

Summertime’s co-founders Anna and Sophia have deep roots in the Arts and Disabilities space. Anna, Summertime’s Studio Director, has worked at YAI, Bomb Diggity Arts and Spindleworks. Sophia, Summertime’s Gallery Director, was the Gallery Manager at LAND Gallery, and has previously worked at Pure Vision Arts, AHRC, YAI Arts, and volunteered for New York’s HAI and Creativity Explored in California.  Combined, they have curated, executed or facilitated over 50 exhibitions—national and international—including shows at Sotheby’s, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Outsider Art Fair, Fortnight Institute, Western Exhibitions, and Institute 193.

Sophia and Anna’s expertise and immersion in the NYC art community will benefit all of the artists and our program! They will focus their attention on portfolio reviews and will work with artists to develop personalized plans and goals for each artist’s ongoing creative development.

Summertime will also assist in managing PVA’s growing collection of art, facilitating and fostering relationships with galleries and exhibition spaces, and coordinating/curating exciting exhibition opportunities! Be sure to follow Summertime’s Instagram  for news of their events and future collaborations featuring PVA artists.
